Clinical Sensitivity

IRN-LogoThe final element of our Expertise-ABC is C.  It stands for ‘Clinical Sensitivity’.

Many of the Faculty of Society and Health’s expert staff have enjoyed extensive practical careers.  They help us to engage key topics and issues with clinical sensitivity and effectiveness. Our principal schools – Advanced and Continuing Practice and Pre-Qualifying Nursing– range across many relevant areas.  They include:

  • Cancer and palliative care
  • Critical care
  • Acute care
  • Transcultural nursing
  • Advanced practice
  • Workforce transformation/redesign
  • Health care practice
  • Telehealth/telecare
  • Spinal.

In addition, the Faculty supports a wide range of research centres and institutes.

Notably, the Institute of Research in Nursing is led by its director, the university’s professor of clinical nursing practice and innovation, Susan Procter and deputy director, Dr Deborah Mazhindu.
